3 New Places to Visit in Superior

by ANGEL GONZALEZ January 27, 2022

If you’re looking for a dose of small-town charm in the new year, take a road trip to Superior. The former mining town, with its budding food-and-beverage scene, is about an hour’s drive from Phoenix.

Bruzzi Vineyard The Young, Arizona-based winery’s Superior tasting room opened in October 2020, housed in the same historical building as La Paloma Fine Art gallery so guests can drink wine while enjoying the art on display. Wine tasting reservations are encouraged. bruzzivineyard.com

Silver King Smokehouse & Saloon This barbecue joint opened in January 2021 and embodies the frontier spirit of Arizona. The distinctive Wild West design of the bar and dining area provides patrons with a peek into the past of the state’s early days. A nice patio lets diners enjoy Arizona’s beautiful winter weather. The smoked brisket is the crown jewel of this eatery. silverkingbbq.com

Mountainside Coffee After opening in early 2020, the Mountainside Coffee team persevered through the pandemic’s initial stages to serve supportive early customers. The coffeeshop continues to offer a variety of drinks including teas, Italian sodas, frozen lemonades and, of course, coffee. Seasonal menu offerings provide novelty for visitors and regulars. facebook.com/mountainsidecoffeellc
