With spring knocking at our door here in Arizona, naturally we are looking to nature for some inspiration and where better to look than the oldest botanical gardens in the state, Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Spring Plant Sale, March 11 -26 | 8 AM - 5 PM
If you are getting ready to give your garden some new life and love, mark your calendar for the upcoming plant sale at BTA. Apart from purchasing new plants you can also gather new inspiration for different types of low water desert gardens that you might try at home.
The popular seasonal sale at Boyce Thompson Arboretum will be open to the public for more than two weeks in March. With experts on site to help, you’ll find the perfect plants to take home for your spring planting. BTA Members receive 20% off Plant Sales and early access to the sale through their Member Preview Day on March 10th.
Wish "Mr. Big" a happy 100!
"Mr. Big”, BTA's largest red gum or longbreak eucalyptus tree (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) in the collection is 100 years old! Thanks to BTA archives they know that Mr. Big was a three-year-old six-foot sapling when he arrived in February of 1926. Today, he stands 117 feet high and has a circumference of more than 22 feet, making him an Arizona Champion tree.
