Superior Holiday Adventure Guide

The community of Superior invites all to come experience the magic of a small town holiday. Main Street comes alive in festive fashion as the perfect backdrop, creating memories for you and your loved ones. Consider buying a special gift for a loved one at one of the unique shops to support small businesses. While there is plenty of shopping in downtown, the holiday is much more than just the gifts we give each other. Let the small town charm of this mountain town awaken the spirit of the season for you.

Find something memorable in Superior's downtown shops!

There is plenty to experience in and around Superior this holiday season.

If you never have been to Boyce Thompson Arboretum use this opportunity to discover one of the grand arboretums of the southwest. It is the oldest and largest Botanical Garden in Arizona. Their mission is to inspire appreciation and stewardship of desert plants, wildlife, and ecosystems through education, research, and conservation. The weather is ideal for walking through the beautiful garden this time of year.

Get your pup's holiday photo at the Arboretum!

Santa goes to the Dogs the first weekend of December with scenic professional pet photos with Santa. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the Arboretum year-round, and during the season of giving, we aim to provide our furry friends (and their owners) an extra memorable experience. Of course, human children are welcome alongside fur babies, so bring the whole family. Printed photos and digital copies will be available for purchase and ready within minutes. These photos will make a great addition to any holiday card!

The weather is gorgeous on the Legends of Superior Trails this time of year.

Mark your calendar for Luminaria Hike on December 4th at 5pm at the Legends of Superior Trails

It's such a special sight to see the Sonoran Desert decorated for the holiday and you will be able to do just that this season on the Luminaria Hike. Before the hike starts be sure to arrive early to view the amazing desert sunset before the path illuminates with holiday cheer. Join the hike to the original Queen Creek Bridge on the Queen Creek Canyon segment which will be illuminated by luminaries. Meet us on the bridge for caroling, cookies and hot chocolate. A short ceremony will begin at 6pm.

A hike on the Legends of Superior Trails is also a wonderful activity to do with the whole family any time this season. The weather is perfect to get out, unplug, breath deep and enjoy nature when our schedules can get a little hectic with holiday plans.

Bruzzi Vineyards will send you on your way with the perfect holiday bottle.

Finally, bring home a bottle of local wine for your special holiday dinner. Your guests will surely be impressed with a local bottle that will also be a good conversation starter. Bruzzi Vineyards Tasting Room will get you set up with a tasting to figure out the perfect compliment to the meal you are planning.

While you are in Superior plan on getting a bite at one of the locally owned restaurants as there is quite and impressive mix to choose from. Check out the places to eat here.

Whatever you end up planning on doing this holiday try to make time for the small towns. They may be small in size but they are big in heart. ♥️
