Sustainability has been a common practice in Superior for generations, but for the first time in its history the town is working with local water utility, Arizona Water Company, to launch a demand management program to meet increasing water conservation requirements while also growing sustainability efforts in the area. To make the program more effective, other organizations like the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Regenerating Sonoran, Rebuild Superior and APS are joining into the program as well.
Although the town, residents, businesses and organizations have been doing their part to protect Superior’s natural resources, there is always more to be done.
The demand management program introduces new elements for the public as well as working to build out existing conservation resources. The Town of Superior and Arizona Water Company are launching Sustainability Elevated, a public messaging campaign that provides actions and tips that residents and commercial water users can adopt to help make their community more sustainable and water conscious. Every month, content is posted on a new topic, with the topic for the kick-off month being water resources and the goals of the campaign. Superior water users are encouraged to do their part in ensuring a secured future for the community by following the campaign on Facebook, visiting our local water conservation experts at local events, or sharing tips and success stories for reducing water use.
You can find a quick link to the new page on this site as well under the 'Plan your Adventure' tab. Just look for 'Sustainability Elevated'.
